Scope of works
At West Ruislip, we provided and managed a workforce of 560 people, working 24/7,
365 days a year over a three-year period to support the delivery of 8km of twin-bore
segmental tunnel for HS2.
Our scope included labour provision for two EPB Herrenknecht TBMs, cross passage
excavation, sprayed concrete lining (SCL) works, and secondary lining.
The Main Works Civils Contracts (MWCCs) cover the whole of Phase One, from London
to Birmingham. For the MWCCs, four joint ventures have been appointed of which SCS
JV (Skanska Construction UK Limited, Costain Limited, STRABAG AG – UK Branch joint
venture) has been awarded Area South (S1 and S2 sectors), which covers the length of the
planned route from London Euston out to the Harvil Road (West Ruislip).
