Scope of works
The NCP402 project consists of the construction of a section of the Greater
Cairo Metro Line 4 that includes 5.80 m ID twin bore tunnels passing
through four intermediate stations. The segmental lined tunnels will be
constructed using two identical slurry TBMs supplied by CRCHI.
The support that JGL is providing includes reviewing machine specification
methods and advising on systems, plant and equipment and tunnelling
operations. The TBMs are now on site and the stations are under
construction, expected tunnelling operation to start in May 2026.
Currently some of our team are in Cairo, and will include 25 JGL tunnelling
experts when operations are in full flow.
