Shaft Underpinning
Specialist Plant Associates now supply a number of Segment
Lifting Frames to allow shaft sinking using the underpinning
technique. Segments are secured, slung, and bolted in place
whilst located on the underpinning frame. An offset lifting
point helps prevent damage to segments by chains / crane
block when working in deep shafts.

design of frame. Segment restraint
hooks and segment bolt hold the
segment tight to the frame.
