FISH RETURN SYSTEM
The temporary works design and construction of the Hinkley Fish Return
Tunnel for KierBam and NNB.
The project involved design and installation of an inclined pipejacking rig,
double vertical curved microtunnel, and challenging angled breakthrough.
This is all carried out from a restricted working.
TBM recovery is being undertaken in the Severn Estuary, having the
second largest tidal range in the world (12 metres). This project has been
shortlisted for BCIA 2026 award.
