AT120 All Terrain
Directional Drill
JGL continues to invest in its specialist plant 昀氀eet with the arrival of a new
AT120 All Terrain Directional Drill and M3000DH drilling 昀氀uid cleaning
system, reinforcing the company’s commitment to increasing capability,
e昀케ciency and delivery capacity across complex infrastructure projects.
The new equipment has gone straight into operation on the Carno Grid
project in Wales, supporting the delivery of critical energy infrastructure
works.
The investment in the AT120 and M3000DH further enhances JGL’s
self-delivery capability, providing increased drilling power, improved
昀氀uid management and greater operational e昀케ciency. Together, the new
additions enable the business to undertake larger, more technically
challenging HDD installations while supporting continued growth in the
energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors.
The AT120 signi昀椀cantly enhances JGL’s HDD capability, o昀昀ering 120,000 lbs
of pullback and thrust force together with 15,500 ft-lbs of rotational torque.
Designed for challenging ground conditions, the machine combines
industry-leading power with All Terrain technology, enabling longer and
more complex installations while maintaining productivity in di昀케cult
geology. Powered by a Stage V compliant 280hp Cummins engine, the
AT120 delivers high performance while reducing environmental impact.
The accompanying M3000DH cleaning system brings industry-leading
昀氀uid management capability, featuring a 300 GPM cleaning capacity,
Derrick HyperPool shaker technology and a 3,000-gallon tank system. The
unit improves drilling 昀氀uid quality, increases recycling e昀케ciency, reduces
waste and helps maximise drilling productivity on larger HDD projects.
Together, these latest additions strengthen JGL’s ability to undertake larger
diameter, longer distance and more technically challenging trenchless
installations, ensuring the business remains at the forefront of specialist
utility and energy infrastructure delivery.
Looking ahead
The investment forms part of JGL’s ongoing strategy to expand its
specialist 昀氀eet and increase self-delivery capability across the UK.
With a growing pipeline of energy, utility and infrastructure projects,
the business remains committed to investing in the latest technology,
equipment and people to support future growth, enhance service delivery
and provide clients with innovative trenchless construction solutions for
increasingly complex projects.
The arrival of the AT120 and M3000DH marks another important step in
ensuring JGL is well positioned to deliver future national infrastructure
projects and maintain its reputation as a leading specialist contractor
within the trenchless construction sector.
